Benefits of Collecting Your Child’s Cord Blood

Monday 18 September 2006 @ 6:04 am

Cord blood stem cells, are one of a group of cells called hematopoietic stem cells that can be used to treat many diseases. Cord blood stem cells are not the same as embryonic stem cells, which there is quite a bit of controversy currently surrounding research using these types of cells. Cord blood stems cells are capable of evolving into different types of blood cells in the circulatory and immune systems. These cells, hematopoietic stem cells are collected from three sources: adult bone marrow, adult peripheral blood, and cord blood.

Great Baby Shower Decorating

Tuesday 12 September 2006 @ 6:11 am

I will tell you, my friend: baby shower decorating is a fine art. There is much more involved in it than you might think. Of, everyone knows all of the basic elements of baby shower decorating: duckies on the wall, little paper plates with pictures of infants against a soft purple background, and of course, the baby (if you can keep the little whelp cute and quiet for the whole party, that is). But how to keep the baby shower decorations on that line between too cute and too tasteful – how to be just cheesy enough without being downright nauseating. Ah, my friend, that is where the artistry lies.

Shopping for Baby Girl Dresses

Tuesday 5 September 2006 @ 4:52 am

That day can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. That moment of truth when you finally meet that person whose life takes precedence over yours. It’s too late to try and back out now. That little lady, squinting and grunting in your arms is all yours. Now it’s your responsibility to treat her right and make sure she’s happy. It’s without a doubt a long road ahead, but you knew what you were getting into.

Parenting: Filling Nanny Positions

Thursday 31 August 2006 @ 7:21 am

Whether you are looking to become a nanny, or you want to hire one, there are many great places on the Internet to find the information you need. Nanny positions are plentiful, but that doesn’t mean everyone should be a nanny, and it certainly doesn’t mean everyone who has signed up for hire as a nanny should be considered. It’s a matter of training, experience, and character. Not just anyone can be a nanny. Some people simply don’t have what it takes. This doesn’t mean they aren’t a good person, it just means they were meant for something else.

Finding a Trustworthy Baby Sitter

Tuesday 18 July 2006 @ 9:19 am

Being a parent can be very demanding. Most parents need a baby sitter from time to time to provide care while they work or to just simply give them a break once in awhile. Finding a baby sitter that is trustworthy and dependable can help to ease the stress associated with child care issues. As all parents know, child care is a necessity at times. It is not always possible to take off from work every time your child has a sniffle and can’t go to school. On the other hand, a parent that is home full time needs a break as well, to rejuvenate physically and psychologically. Since we live in a highly mobile society, parents do not always have family members close by that they can ask to watch the children. So who do you turn to, and how do you find a baby sitter you can trust?

Practice Children Car Seat Safety

Thursday 13 July 2006 @ 6:07 am

There is nothing more important to a parent than the safety of their child, and there are few places more potentially dangerous for a child than the car. This is why child car seat safety is such an important consideration. A variety of features of a car seat might appeal to a parent. Does it look comfortable? Is it easy to move, and easy to install? And, of course, the price is always an important consideration, as it is for every purchase, as is the endorsement or non-endorsement of friends or colleagues. But the parent must always remember that child car seat safety is the most important thing of all.

The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Wednesday 12 July 2006 @ 9:58 am

How important is early childhood education? When should your child starts early childhood education? Many educators feel that very young students are falling behind even before they enter the classroom for the very first time. Other teachers argue that parents are teaching their children information and skills that need to be introduced using specific teaching methods. The two conflicting perspectives leave many parents scratching their heads wonder what they should teach at home and what skills educators expect their child to have upon entering the kindergarten classroom.

Parenting: Bible Studies for Children

Monday 10 July 2006 @ 5:53 am

Sometimes it is very easy to get caught up in today’s high-tech society and forget the basics of family activities specific to religion. When we think of Bible studies for children, we usually picture a church setting with children sitting in pews using rote memorization to learn Biblical verses by heart. Computers do not typically come into the picture, but they should.

Parenting - Safety For Children

Saturday 8 July 2006 @ 8:35 am

Parenting can be quite a chore. Your children are always doing something when you aren’t looking. Are your little tikes tearing around your home now? Although kids can get rather irksome at times, we tend to love them more than anything in the world. This is why we as parents have to work so hard to ensure their safety. Because when it comes to safety for children, nothing else takes precedence. Now, there are a number of ways we have to mind our children’s safety. It’s all about awareness. Are you aware of what your child is doing this very moment? You want to always keep track. People disappear daily in this country. Therefore when it comes to safety for children, there’s no room for error.
